About the event
So many of us are exhausted. Not just tired, but deeply worn down. Burnout, chronic stress, emotional fatigue, and a sense of being far from ourselves.
This talk explores a simple but often overlooked truth:
That underneath it all is a chronic disconnection - from the body and its needs and the wider web of life we belong to.
This talk introduces the idea of the ecological body: the understanding that the body is not a machine to optimise or push through, but a living, intelligent system shaped by cycles, relationships, and belonging.
I will speak about burnout and stress as signals that something essential has been lost: our presence within ourselves and the felt sense of belonging to the more-than-human world.
Drawing on embodiment, deep ecology, and lived experience, this talk invites a remembering:
that the body is nature
that we carry ancestral wisdom that goes beyond our human lineage
and that reconnection, with self, body, land, and life is a necessity for wellbeing.
The talk will explore:
how disconnection shows up in the body and nervous system
why modern life so easily pulls us away from ourselves and the living world
simple embodied ways of reconnecting with the body as a source of safety, guidance, and support
This talk is for you if:
you feel done with the constant grind
you’ve “done the work” but still feel disconnected or depleted
you’re longing for a deeper sense of belonging in your body and in the world
You’ll leave with a clearer understanding of burnout through an ecological lens, and gentle, practical ways to begin reconnecting .
